The 1260HD Series is our heavy-duty automatic winding system, built for large transformers, inductors, and power coils that demand extended traverse length and serious torque. The 24-inch traverse handles long bobbins that smaller machines simply cannot accommodate.

This system pairs our robust 1400 Series heavy-duty winder with the 1260 Automatic Traverse. The 3/4-inch arbor with roller bearings delivers the rigidity and torque needed for heavy-gauge wire down to AWG 5. The traverse carriage moves at 1.0 inch per second—twice the speed of our standard traverse—for improved cycle times on production runs.

Microprocessor-controlled pitch settings cover fine mode (.0001 to .0999 in/rev) and regular mode (.001 to .999 in/rev). Program 32 traverse sequences and 99 winder presets to automate complex multi-section windings. The photoelectric pickup maintains precise synchronization between spindle rotation and carriage movement.

At 250 lbs on a 58 x 28 inch footprint, the 1260HD is built for industrial production environments.

Frequently Asked Questions

What accessories are required vs. optional?
None required—the machine is ready to use out of the box with basic arbors included. Recommended: Tensioner for consistent wire tension (especially for finer gauges), Tailstock for longer coils, and Hand Controller for automated speed control.
Can this handle fine-gauge wire like 42 AWG?
Yes, this machine handles a wide range of wire gauges. For finer gauges (40-44 AWG), we strongly recommend pairing with our Azonic Tensioner for optimal tension control and to prevent wire breakage.
What support is available after purchase?
Every machine includes lifetime phone and email support directly from our engineering team in Moorpark, CA. No call centers—when you call, you speak with someone who helped build your machine. We also offer on-site training and calibration services.
How do I order? Can I pay by purchase order?
You can order directly through our website with a credit card, or request a formal quote for purchase order processing. We work with procurement departments and offer NET 30 terms for qualified business accounts.
