The Thor Model 150 is our most powerful winding system, delivering up to 216 inch-pounds of torque for the most demanding heavy-gauge applications. When standard heavy-duty machines are not enough, Thor gets the job done.
A 1 HP, 90V DC motor drives through a three-ratio gearbox (1:1, 2:1, 3:1) to give you the right balance of speed and torque for any application. At the 3:1 ratio, you get maximum torque at 0-116 RPM. At 1:1, you get 0-583 RPM for faster production on lighter work. Wire capacity extends to #6 AWG with a 14-inch maximum coil diameter.
The integrated 24-inch traverse with 0.0001-inch resolution handles long bobbins with precision. Digital controls provide 99 presets with a counter range from 0 to 99,999 turns. The robust construction weighs in at 360 lbs on a 48 x 26 inch footprint—built to stay put under heavy loads.
Designed for transformer manufacturing, heavy-duty industrial coils, and any application requiring serious torque and capacity. Made in our California facility with direct engineering support.

Frequently Asked Questions
What accessories are required vs. optional?
None required—the machine is ready to use out of the box with basic arbors included. Recommended: Tensioner for consistent wire tension (especially for finer gauges), Tailstock for longer coils, and Hand Controller for automated speed control.
Can this handle fine-gauge wire like 42 AWG?
Yes, this machine handles a wide range of wire gauges. For finer gauges (40-44 AWG), we strongly recommend pairing with our Azonic Tensioner for optimal tension control and to prevent wire breakage.
What support is available after purchase?
Every machine includes lifetime phone and email support directly from our engineering team in Moorpark, CA. No call centers—when you call, you speak with someone who helped build your machine. We also offer on-site training and calibration services.
How do I order? Can I pay by purchase order?
You can order directly through our website with a credit card, or request a formal quote for purchase order processing. We work with procurement departments and offer NET 30 terms for qualified business accounts.
