The 1201 Series is our most popular benchtop bobbin winder, designed for medium to fine wire applications. This compact, reliable machine delivers the precision control you need for production winding without taking over your workspace.

Four models cover the full range of speed and wire requirements—from high-speed fine wire work at 3,600 RPM down to heavier gauge applications with increased torque. Every machine features dynamic braking for precise stopping, a multi-range electronic foot control for intuitive speed adjustment, and a bright LED display showing turn count to the nearest 1/10 turn.

Program up to 99 presets to define stopping points within your winding operation. Each preset can be set as absolute or additive, and presets can be sequenced together into groups for complex multi-section coils. The arbor direction is switch-selectable for top-coming or top-going rotation with positive or negative count.

Pairs with the 1250 Automatic Traverse for hands-free wire layering, or use standalone with manual guidance for prototyping and short runs.

Frequently Asked Questions

What accessories are required vs. optional?
None required—the machine is ready to use out of the box with basic arbors included. Recommended: Tensioner for consistent wire tension (especially for finer gauges), Tailstock for longer coils, and Hand Controller for automated speed control.
Can this handle fine-gauge wire like 42 AWG?
Yes, this machine handles a wide range of wire gauges. For finer gauges (40-44 AWG), we strongly recommend pairing with our Azonic Tensioner for optimal tension control and to prevent wire breakage.
What support is available after purchase?
Every machine includes lifetime phone and email support directly from our engineering team in Moorpark, CA. No call centers—when you call, you speak with someone who helped build your machine. We also offer on-site training and calibration services.
How do I order? Can I pay by purchase order?
You can order directly through our website with a credit card, or request a formal quote for purchase order processing. We work with procurement departments and offer NET 30 terms for qualified business accounts.
